Sun, April 14, 1:15 to 2:45pm, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 100, Room 108A

Abstract

This research seeks to understand the impact of Culturally Responsive Curriculum Development Institute (CRCDI) on the faculty teaching and learning, focusing on supporting the Latinx student population at HSI. The study found that participants characterized their experiences of teaching and learning culturally responsive pedagogy (CRP) as a powerful communal faculty practice. Faculty members recognized the importance of communal faculty practice, including building supportive communities, bridging gaps, and practicing community care. The research findings will inform the development of resources to support faculty using culturally responsive pedagogies, promoting meaningful changes in practice to better serve Latinx students and communities at HSIs.
