Embedded systems of oppression in K-20 educational spaces have never been more present, and continue to govern the ways in which we construct knowledge and engage with these spaces. In order to combat these systems, collective action and alliance building is considered as a method to construct an action plan of transformation through personal reflection. We call on scholars like Gloria Anzaldúa to provide an opportunity to analyze impacts of a colonized education through pláticas. Conceptualizing her notion of bridge building as a method to achieve solidarity. Additionally, scholars like Kimberle Crenshaw and her concept of intersectionality allow us to further understand implications of a restricting education. With a raised awareness we reimagine and construct educational possibilities of liberation.
