This session explores the nexus of technology and evidence-based tutoring strategies in addressing educational challenges intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic. The primary objective is to highlight how, developed with guidance from the National Student Support Accelerator at Stanford University, enables seamless implementation and scaling of high-impact tutoring programs adhering to research-backed practices.
Perspective(s) or Theoretical Framework:
The session is framed within the context of the increasing need for effective, scalable solutions to combat learning loss and generations of inequities in education. We will employ a practical perspective, drawing on our experiences and learnings from designing and implementing theplatform, influenced heavily by the research and recommendations of the National Student Support Accelerator.
Methods, Techniques, or Modes of Inquiry:
The inquiry will focus on developing a tutoring platform that caters to the needs of diverse stakeholders while staying true to high-impact tutoring standards. The session will discuss the integration of evidence-based practices into the platform's design and function and the mechanisms for data collection and analysis that drive decision-making.
Data Sources, Evidence, Objects, or Materials:
Evidence presented will draw on data collected via theplatform, including instructional, social-emotional, assessment, and demographic data. We will also draw on the experiences and outcomes of our key partners who utilize in their operations and data collection.
