Abstract

In this paper we provide an analysis of the Freirean cannon as it situated critical pedagogy and offer a vision for future directions for its inclusion in education. Our goal is, first, to offer an analysis of the critical literature and how it is taken up and understood by scholars. We attempt to decipher how and where Freire’s work is misinterpreted, nuanced, and promoted.
