Attending an early childhood education and care (ECEC) program with excellent educator-child-interaction supports children's development. Especially children from socioeconomically disadvantaged families benefit in their development, if the interaction quality between ECEC-teachers and children is high.
Evaluations on the educator-child-interaction of ECEC and consultations could support professional development of ECEC-teachers and quality development processes.
In the present study, the salutogenic counseling approach is used to show how counseling sessions can be conducted to strengthen the sense of coherence and increase the quality of interaction.
