Validation Study: Overall Well-Being Measurement Among School Principals

Thu, April 11, 7:00am to 11:55pm, I-Presentation Gallery, I-Presentation Gallery

Abstract

This study investigates the psychometric properties of overall well-being and its associated dimensions including physical, emotional, cognitive, social, psychological, and spiritual well-being among schools` principals, based on Viac and Fraser’s (2020) framework. About 471 schools` principals were recruited in the data analysis. Results show that each item of each construct is satisfactorily explained by one factor. The result of confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) also suggests the best model fit, with acceptable fit indices (RMSEA = .079, CFI = .905, and TLI = .890), by considering physical, emotional, social, and psychological well-being as indicators of overall well-being measurement. This study suggests the feasibility of applying overall well-being instruments within an educational population with relatively good construct validity and internal consistency.
