The pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges to education worldwide, impacting gifted students, particularly underrepresented secondary students from low-income families. This study investigates how the pandemic influenced gifted students' perceptions of classroom quality in a summer residential program, utilizing the talent development and motivation framework. The dimensions of appeal, challenge, choice, meaningfulness, and academic self-efficacy were analyzed before and during the pandemic. The ANOVA analysis revealed no statistically significant differences in students’ perceptions on these dimensions. The findings offer valuable insights for educators and policymakers to design effective post-pandemic enrichment strategies for talent development and academic motivation of underrepresented students.
