Global calls to "decolonize research” draw critical attention to historical power inequities in educational research. A global research institution together with civil society organizations and education institutions in 12 countries from six continents have co-produced community-driven research on family, school, and community engagement (FSCE) to support more equitable partnerships. Research conducted between 2022-2023 identifies global barriers to FSCE and locally driven strategies to ensure schools and families are working in partnership to support students’ learning and development. This paper outlines the participatory methodology used, case studies of how power relations were disrupted among research partners, and quantitative and qualitative data on the beliefs and experiences of families, educators, and students in the quest to build greater FSCE.
