We focused on 158 Latina undergraduates' perceived relationships with their fathers. Using the Psychosociocultural framework to guide our research question, data analysis, and write-up. We extend the literature on family with particular attention to Latino fathers' social role in higher education. Results from our canonical correlation analysis indicated that the father’s support and involvement were related to Latina’s sense of cultural congruity and subsequent academic persistence. Collectively, the psychosociocultural approach significantly predicted academic persistence decisions, with the psychological and social dimensions accounting for approximately equal amounts of variance. Authors provide implications for research and practice.
