Communities of practice (CoP) are gaining popularity among teacher educators, as a means to foster professional learning. This self-study describes the experiences of eight ECE teacher educators from universities across the United States who came together to study their Anti Bias Education (ABE) practices to improve our work as teacher educators and support our students. A group of four faculty members within this CoP, who were interested in examining the concept of third space, organized themselves for a shared self-study inquiry. Data sources included recordings of Zoom meetings, transcripts of meeting discourse, collaborative reflections, and individual journals. Findings show that participants constantly negotiated their identities, and interconnected knowledge and expertise, to enrich professional practice.
