This presentation offers a flipped critical friends protocol. We describe how our critical friends group developed this protocol and offer an example of how we have used it to process our experiences with online teaching during and in the aftermath of the COVID lockdown in our state. By using writing and artwork as a mode of inquiry, the flipped critical friends protocol unpacks the interplay of emotion, embodiment, and actionable insight within lived experience. In our presentation, we invite the audience to dialogue with us about online teaching and learning, offering a gallery walk of six faculty members’ experiences as a starting place.
