This study investigates the effectiveness of professional development (PD) courses focusing on faculty self-efficacy and mindset growth. Ten US colleges and universities participated, with faculty teaching "gateway courses" invited to the PD. Surveys were administered at four time points to both participating and non-participating faculty to measure changes in self-efficacy and mindset. Additionally, student surveys assessed changes in students’ academic self-efficacy and growth mindset. The results demonstrate positive changes in faculty self-efficacy and mindset, especially in evidence-based teaching practices. Student surveys suggest that faculty PD also positively impacted students' academic self-efficacy and growth mindset. The findings underscore the potential of targeted faculty PD in promoting effective teaching practices and cultivating a growth-oriented mindset in students.
