Wraparound in Practice: A School-Based Model of Support for Children and Families

Sat, April 13, 11:25am to 12:55pm, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Exhibit Hall B

Abstract

Wraparound supports offered in All In For Youth (AIFY) schools address the complex and layered needs of children and families that experience vulnerability in their lives (e.g., those who are living in poverty, experiencing mental health challenges, have children underperforming academically, or those impacted by systemic racism). AIFY supports are school-based which makes it easier for children and families to access and benefit from them. Additionally, because school, community agency and university partners work collaboratively, they’re better able to coordinate services and avoid siloed action. AIFY partners strive to establish, implement, and monitor tailored support plans that always keep the needs of children and their families as the focus.
