This project presents a praxis of restorying (Achebe, 2000) between two researchers of the Asian diaspora. Using duoethnography as a methodology, we met to discuss and shared journals about our lived experiences as Asian women. We analyzed the recordings of our meetings and the journals to identify themes and patterns that spoke truthfully to our beings in academia. In this project, we attempt to restory our narrative, calling on its balance and diversity. Without romanticizing the academy, we shift our focus on the narrative of joy, hope, and promises to inscribe the stories of our survival, life-making, and community-building. We hope that by beginning with reimagining the world, we can start working toward changing it the way we wish.
