Cultivating Awareness and Resilience in Education (CARE) is a program for educators that centers on increasing wellbeing and decreasing stress. In a replication study currently being conducted, CARE has been modified for use with special education teachers (SETs). This poster focuses on pre-intervention qualitative and quantitative data collected from SETs in a southeastern state in the United States. This mixed methods analysis seeks to illuminate what factors impact special educators’ stress and contribute to burnout, as well as describe common workplace conditions that may impact their stress.
