To address inequities and access for under-resourced students in diverse communities, college and career-readiness practices and postsecondary educational opportunities must be provided for all students. Researchers need to better understand how schools implement evidence-based practices to develop democratic, student-centered learning climates with a college and career-readiness culture. Findings from a case study investigation, impacting 2515 students and 652 educators in 22 under-resourced high schools (rural, suburban and urban), provided understanding of how democratic principles were implemented and applied into practice. The framework embraced cycles of inquiry, constructive discourse, educational equity, authentic learning, shared leadership, and positive student-centered learning climates. Through school-university collaboration in research-practice partnerships, this program supports schools as they implement strategies to address student college and career-readiness needs.
