As higher education grapples with meeting the mental health needs of students, there is a growing interest in the potential for mindfulness to help support student wellbeing. There have been a number of studies demonstrating that mindfulness is an effective way to promote health and treat mental health challenges among university students.
Koru Mindfulness is a specific approach to teaching meditation that is designed for emerging adults (EA’s) or persons aged 18-29. It was created by Drs. Rogers and Maytan at Duke University for students there, and since then has been adopted widely on campuses throughout the U.S.
