To support aspiring administrators in ethical decision making, an UPPP in the southern region of the United States incorporated one-on-one coaching in the internship. All students in the program received individualized coaching throughout their year-long internship to support them in developing ethical decision-making. Our purpose in this study was to explore the perceptions of aspiring school principals of their experiences in ethical leadership development through one-on-one coaching sessions in the UPPP internship. Using qualitative methods, we framed our study using Merizow's transformative learning theory, and we discuss our findings through the following themes: development of personal strengths and character; building self-efficacy in ethical decision-making; and using virtues and strengths in developing an ethical culture.
