Sat, April 13, 7:45 to 9:15am, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Exhibit Hall B

Abstract

This research work investigates the relationship between social media (SM) usage and creativity among university students, with a specific focus on the widely popular platform, TikTok. Recognizing the potential of SM in enhancing teaching and learning environments, this study examines creativity through both performance tests and self-reported ideation. Utilizing an online survey, university students and young individuals were surveyed to explore the associations between time spent on SM, preferred activities, and the purposes of usage with creativity. The findings aim to provide valuable insights into the creative impact of TikTok and SM in general, assisting educators in understanding and incorporating SM effectively into educational settings to foster creativity and improve student learning experiences.
