This study explores the concept of “Idea Networking” from the Innovator’s DNA framework among school leaders, focusing on how they expand their networks within and outside of education to foster innovative problem solving. The study employs an explanatory sequential mixed methods research design to integrate both quantitative ego network data and qualitative open-ended responses to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the “Idea Networking” experiences of school leaders. School leaders were provided with three different phases of Innovator’s DNA curriculum. Data analysis indicated that the school leaders' ego network expanded within each phase. School leaders' open-ended responses revealed two significant themes: (1) network diagram showcasing exposure and reflection of network patterns, and (2) deliberate efforts to extend networks beyond education.
