Our essay provides a conceptual (self-)geography answering the research question Do I have to write this research proposal just like you? This essay is articulated in conjunctural praxis within the exigencies of the American Educational Research Association’s AERA (2023) ontic-empire of (cognitive, formatted) whiteness of what is reproduced as an AERA “research proposal.” Though paradoxically located within the ontic-empire, our goal is to rupture and break apart such limits to advance critical interactive research praxis and community-generating and transnational-yet-local collective theorizing.
