In this study, we asked ECE providers’ perceived need on (1) implementing COVID-19 protocols (Quick et al., 2020), (2) professional network, and (3) online trainings including various topics such as trauma-informed care, children’s social and emotional development, and behavior management (1 = no additional need ~ 5 = very much needed). To examine differences in ECE providers’ perceived need by race, we conducted a series of a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and tested the group differences by post-hoc Bonferroni test. Results showed significant differences in the perceived need by race. Black and Asian ECE providers reported significantly higher need than White providers in guidance on COVID-19 protocols, access to a professional network, online trainings, and child abuse recognition/reporting.
