Youlonda Copeland-Morgan is a prominent leader in higher education, with over 35 years of national, state, and local service. As Vice Provost for Enrollment Management at UCLA, she oversees the Office of Undergraduate Admission, Financial Aid and Scholarship, and outreach and community engagement. In this capacity, she manages the University's financial aid and scholarship budget, which exceeds one billion dollars.
Her dedication to access, equity, diversity, and inclusion in higher education is evident through her distinguished career. Youlonda served as a Trustee of the College Board for nine years, including two years as Chairman of the Board (2008-2010). She was also appointed Vice-Chair of the College Board's Advocacy and Policy Center. Currently, she is serving on the Gates Millennium Scholars Advisory Council for a third term.
Youlonda's influence extends beyond the College Board, as she sits on the Advisory Board of Cambridge Assessment UK and the National Advisory Board for Re-Imagining College Access (RCA). She also serves on the Board of P&P Home for the Elderly in Los Angeles.
Throughout her career, Youlonda has received numerous distinguished service awards for her leadership in enrollment management and financial aid policy, impacting access, equity, and minority participation in higher education. Among her honors are membership in the College Board's "Hall of Fame" and the National Association of College Admission Counselors Gayle C. Wilson Award.
A sought-after speaker, Youlonda has presented at over 200 events, addressing topics like diversity, multiculturalism, financial aid, and inclusion in college admission. Her expertise has been sought by organizations such as the Gates Foundation, National Association of Scholarship Providers, and the US House of Representatives Committee on Education and the Workforce.
In addition to her administrative roles, Youlonda is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Southern California (USC), teaching "Leadership in Enrollment Management" since 2011. She has also been a faculty member for continuing education at UCLA for nine years. Her impactful contributions have left a lasting legacy in the field of higher education.
