What Happens After an Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander–Serving Institution Grant Ends?

Abstract

A federal Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institution (AANAPISI) funding helps build capacity at an institution. However, there is a dearth of knowledge on what happens after a grant ends—institution’s plans and perceptions of those plans. The findings revealed plans to sustain and expand best practices (e.g., mentoring) and develop new student initiatives (e.g., a state-funded program that supports African American students).
