Applications of Cultural-Historical Theory to Concepts of Racial Injustice and Education

Sun, April 14, 11:25am to 12:55pm, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Exhibit Hall B

Abstract

In this paper I explore the conference theme of “Dismantling Racial Injustices and Constructing Educational Possibilities: A Call to Action”. I explore how researchers within cultural-historical theory can contribute to this call to action and certain cultural-historical theoretical concepts that characterize racial injustice and education. Namely, concepts related to structural development. I conclude by relating these points to the necessity for broader systemic change within professional organizations and the University system.
