Over the past decade, we have researched and worked with large urban school districts, small affluent white districts, public and private higher education systems, and community colleges to spur racial equity within these organizations. Educational change often centralizes the individual, which creates situations where change becomes dependent on individual learning. Although individual learning and reflection are important components of organizational change, they do not transform organizations, thus limiting organizational change. As scholarly thought partners, we present a call to action for scholars to focus not solely on the leaders tasked with making organizations racially equitable but to reach across organizations to learn how to transform K-12 and higher education systems into racially just organizations. Implications will be discussed
