As four BIPOC graduate students, we established a community within the academia centered on our stories that reimagine liberatory education as a place of healing, justice, and solidarity. The ADL Collective actively and intentionally positions a humanization in order to dismantle and disrupt oppressive systems. This study utilizes testimonio as a method and methodology. Through testimoniando -collective storytelling- and collaborative data analysis, we theorize abolition, decolonization, and liberation in the flesh. Our findings found Against a Hegemony of Thought, Peeling Away at an Imagined America, and Just Because You’re Brown, Don’t Mean You’re Down as our main themes.
