Global multispecies interactions have resulted in new public harms, altering the ways in which we understand place and the work we do within it. Exploring cartographic art-science experiences has potential to reframe and facilitate multispecies sense-making to counter these alterations of place. We offer an exploratory discussion about a cartographic art-science experience in a STEAM summer camp. This experience allowed learners to sense-make their relationships with place, zoonotic disease risk, and multispecies interactions, while co-developing representational and aesthetic practices. We suggest providing opportunities for learners to engage in local representative and everyday aesthetic practices through cartographic art-science may support multispecies connections and community engagement, collectively engaging us in disrupting the status quo and in seeking new possibilities for future living.
