As Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology advances and becomes more integrated into our daily lives, the need to enhance young children’s AI literacy has become more and more prominent. This study investigated the effectiveness of a customized AI education program for young learners in South Korea. This program has three learning modules: (1) Appreciating AI, (2) Understanding AI, and (3) Utilizing AI. In June 2020, 27 sixth-graders in South Korea participated in the pilot program. The study collected and analyzed quantitative survey data on learning outcomes and satisfaction, as well as qualitative data such as observations and reflections. The findings suggested that participants were satisfied with the program and exhibited a higher level of comprehension of AI after completing it.
