As artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning tools are increasingly employed in higher education settings, it is important to explore whether and how educators are willing to employ them in courses and their concerns about use that might limit implementation. This presentation provides results from a study of instructors’ views related to a model artificial intelligence tool for supporting literature review development. The research aimed to uncover a continuum of instructor experiences with AI-supported academic technologies. We also sought to understand what these stakeholders value about AI tools, their concerns about the ethical use of such tools for learning and research, and what information could be provided by AI tool developers to alleviate their usage fears.
