K12 school leaders’ capacity is cultivated, in part, during their educational leadership preparation program (ELPP). This research reports on data from graduates over a four-year period at one university in a Mid-Atlantic state, addressing graduates’ sense of preparedness for internship, and their roles post-graduation. Specifically, it also reports on how three types of technology-based simulations (sims) contributed to their conceptual understanding, their perspectives of others, level of confidence in their professional role, and the development of new tools or strategies. This research also reports the additional topics on which they felt they needed further preparation. Systematic review of ELPP outcomes and how innovative pedagogies contribute to them inform how the field can move forward.
