Fri, April 12, 3:05 to 4:35pm, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 100, Room 111B

Abstract

This study's findings on faculty perceptions of Open Educational Resources (OER) reveal their potential to enhance inclusivity and create educational possibilities. 1) OER adoption enhances access and equity by eliminating financial barriers for marginalized students. 2) Acknowledging diverse perspectives in OER fosters cultural competence and inclusivity, while empowering faculty to tailor courses that align with specific learning objectives, and support diverse student backgrounds. 3) Faculty's willingness to share OER and advocate for their adoption contributes to an equitable educational landscape. 4) Inclusive pedagogies with multimedia OERs cater to diverse learning preferences, while simultaneously addressing challenges of access. Overall, embracing OER can drive positive change, fostering equity, and opportunity in higher education.
