College Prep Program Alums' Transition to College

Abstract

The study analyzes interview data from alumni from classes 2020 and 2021 from a college preparation program on the West Coast. Most students in the the program idenfify with a racioethnic minority and/or lower-income. We use Yosso’s (2005) Community of Cultural Wealth framework to examine the factors that helped these students decide where to attend college and the program’s influence on students transition to their institutions.
