This study began as a phenomenological case study using the spiritual identity development theory and praxis theory as frameworks to explain how three teachers incorporate spirituality and faith into their teaching to promote racial justice and diversity in their classrooms. As the data were analyzed, it became evident that a new theory was emerging from the data. This resulted in a constructivist grounded theory methodology being applied and a new framework being presented.
