The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the crucial roles essential workers play in keeping the world functioning. However, their mental health and wellbeing were often overlooked. This study focuses on the voices of 16 migrant essential workers, using Psychological Capital theory framework which focuses on the concepts of hope, efficacy, resilience, and optimism (HERO). By investigating patterns of hope and optimism within these workers, the study aims to shed light on their mental wellbeing and contribute to the development of support systems tailored to their unique needs. Such educational initiatives can play a vital role in improving the overall quality of life and resilience of essential and migrant workers who have been instrumental in sustaining our societies during challenging times.
