This study investigates using emplacement as a methodological lens in qualitative research. The paper draws on an empirical case study of a place-based theater community to further emplaced-inform techniques and approaches that inform the researcher's positionality and reflexivity, data collection and artifacts, and analysis. I foreground my theoretical and methodological exploration of emplacement using several related disciplines and theoretical orientations drawing from the learning sciences, feminist pedagogies and methods, and environmental education; specifically, that of more-than-human [MTH] approaches to learning. This study adds methodological examples of an emplaced approach to learning and research.
