Postcolonial studies have come to recognize the saliency of including the particularities of each point of contact between different cultures and histories in analyses. The objective of this study is to explore how postcolonial theory enables us to problematize the phenomena of globalization in Asian countries. This study demonstrates that globalization has created a pattern of hybridization made visible across different countries and that conditions of social and cultural exclusion have their reflection in symbolic conditions of cultural exchange. This study concludes by pointing out that postcolonial resistance redefines analysis of colonial discourse to material structures of colonial exploitation and inequality.
