This working group roundtable explores the experiences of immigrant faculty of color in higher education in the United States. Paper authors share stories of faculty of color who are immigrants or employed on non-immigrant limited terms. While several studies have explored the experiences of American-born Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) faculty (Buenavista et al., 2023), a focus on international faculty of color is relatively unexplored (Author & Author in press). Papers include stories from faculty representing diverse backgrounds including Chinese, Congolese, Jamaican, etc. Authors employed qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methodologies to capture the microaggressions and macroaggressions faculty experienced. Essentially, authors deconstruct oppressive systems that appear to target minoritized populations.
