Sat, April 13, 11:25am to 12:55pm, Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, Floor: Level 3, Room 306

Abstract

Women are necessary in every leadership role in our society. Even though the pandemic has pulled back the curtain that hides a plethora of inequities surrounding Black and
Brown female leaders, its impact on educational systems and leadership roles, continues to be troubling. This study will offer the voices of Black women in educational leadership positions to be heard. The objectives are to gain insight into the struggles they encounter and lessons learned throughout their careers, from their educational preparation to their current administrative roles. By documenting their voices, the process adds strength to the issues, and highlights stories of their journeys while representing the highly valued cultural capital they bring to educational leadership.
