Trends in Families’ Satisfaction and Interaction With Schools: Results From the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study (Poster 13)

Sun, April 14, 11:25am to 12:55pm, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Exhibit Hall A

Abstract

Parental engagement plays an important role in the academic achievement and behavioral outcomes for all students (Wilder, 2014; Antony-Newman, 2019). This study aimed to examine the trends in families’ satisfaction with school, parental engagement with schools, and school-parent communication across different racial/ethnic and language backgrounds during the elementary years of their children's schooling (K-5). To achieve this goal, we used data from the kindergarten class of 2010-11 of the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study (ECLS-K: 2011).
