Researchers and industry experts emphasize student success in a global economy is affected by the ability to be creative and innovative and a problem solver and critical thinker. Educational leaders have called for a balanced approach to foster these skills for students by incorporating Arts and STEM. Using a literature synthesis, this research sought to gain a broad understanding of the outcomes associated with Arts and STEM education, specifically in relation to 21st century skills and academic achievement. Descriptive data analysis and thematic network analysis were conducted to explore the topics in the data. Results indicate that Arts and STEM work is transdisciplinary, focuses on learner habits of mind and consumers versus producers, with design and implementation significance.
