This study is situated in a historically marginalized neighborhood, where racial segregation has resulted in poor educational and health outcomes and where childcare providers have been invited by a community partnership to participate in a professional growth and funding opportunity. These providers have expressed interest in raising their state accreditation levels, which requires certain trainings, and earning financial and material incentives through participation in the initiative. This evaluation study employs qualitative research methodologies to examine the efficacy of the initiative, including adherence to a shared values document. Data collection will include interviews, focus groups, environment walks, and participant observation. Findings are preliminary but believed to be significant due to the innovative nature of the initiative and the unlikely study participants.
