Abstract

This research explores faculty perceptions of international graduate students' challenges and contributions in U.S. schools of education. Quantitative and qualitative data were gathered through surveys and in-depth interviews. Results show that cultural challenges were perceived to impact students' experiences the most, followed by academic and personal challenges. Faculty with international experience expressed a greater belief in the influence of academic challenges on international students. Faculty acknowledged the valuable contributions of international students, highlighting their diverse perspectives and strong academic performance. Variations in perceptions were observed based on faculty international experience status. This study offers insights into enhancing support for international students in higher education and fostering an intercultural academic environment.
