On PURPOSE: Exploring the Intersections of Racial/Ethnic Identity and Researcher Identity in Minoritized Students (Poster 10)

Fri, April 12, 3:05 to 4:35pm, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Exhibit Hall A

Abstract

We investigated 37 minoritized students’ experiences in PURPOSE, a year-long IES-funded program providing pathways into educational doctoral programs for underrepresented students. Our analysis of interviews revealed that socialization activities linked Fellows’ Racial/Ethnic Identity with their Researcher Identity, and Researcher Self-Efficacy to help them believe that becoming a researcher was possible.
