Understanding the response process of candidates when answering computer-simulated cases is particularly important for evaluating the validity of clinical thinking assessment scores. Previous studies have recommended eye-tracking techniques as a useful method. In this study, eye-tracking data from 20 students were collected and students were divided into high and low score groups based on their test scores. By comparing the eye-tracking heatmaps and trajectories of the high and low score groups during the examination process, their clinical thinking processes were analyzed. The results indicate that the clinical thinking process of the high score group is consistent with the real-world model used to interpret the scores, suggesting the validity of the CTA examination scores.
