Abstract

Discussion is emerging regarding the use of social media within the classroom, especially given the ubiquity of smartphone use (Heizer, 2018). This is in sharp contrast to longstanding phone-off policies at many schools (Accredited Schools Online, 2021). This work-in-progress for this roundtable session presents thoughts on integrating internet-enabled social networks into formal learning in classrooms within a broader educational framework.
