This conceptual poster utilizes Queer of Color Critique (QOCC) to articulate how intersectional inquiry can be employed to make meaning of the experiences of racialized queer youth in school. Utilizing QOCC also provides an opportunity to move beyond the popular notion of resilience in the lives of queer youth by highlighting how queer youth resist oppression. By presenting research on the experiences of queer youth in school and then introducing the elements of race and resistance, I argue that educational research must consider the ways students with intersecting identities experience and resist oppression (e.g., homophobia and racism) while navigating schools.
