Black children's knowledge-making capabilities are often overlooked and obscured by dominant education gap discourses that pinpoints failure. Using Black Emancipatory Action Research, I draw upon culturally and historically responsive literacy to show capabilities young Black children demonstrated in predominantly Black early childhood spaces governed by Black leaders who focus on empowerment.
