The presenter will highlight the commitments and the critical work of working alongside a group of diverse (e.g., Latinx, White, and Black) English Language Arts teachers across grades 9-12 at a school in the Northeast that serves multiple communities that constitute Blackness (e.g., African American, Cape Verdean, and Haitian). Using a co-constructive and iterative process of inquiry that prioritizes relationship building and collective learning, the presenter, a teacher-researcher, will discuss her efforts to cultivate an antiracist, justice-oriented curriculum and pedagogy. Finally, the presenter will describe some of the triumphs and challenges that have emerged.
