How can educational research become liberatory if the discipline is rooted in systemic oppression of communities of Color? Building on Geneva’s legacy of culturally responsive research and praxis, the presenters (a Navajo/Diné female, a Chinese male, and an Austrian Jewish female) theorize how culturally responsive research from conception to execution and to communication can act as an ongoing project to decolonize racially deficit paradigms and engender culturally accurate knowledge for communities of Color. Drawing on examples of their research praxis, the presenters illustrate how culturally responsive research can reciprocate our stewardship to the ecosystem, solidarity with each other, and dreams for racial justice.
